The Budapest Water Polo Cup set to take place for the third time from August 28th to 30th, 2026, in Budapest, promises to be an unforgettable event where exciting games and an incredible atmosphere will come together.

Our objective is quality water polo games in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere at the pool facility. We are dedicated to provide an experience that goes beyond the traditional competition format. With a variety of games, programs, and music, we'll keep everyone entertained throughout the event. To ensure the best atmosphere, there will be bars and BBQ setups around the pool area where you can enjoy refreshments before, after, and during the games.

This tournament will be an excellent opportunity for team-building, fostering relationships and creating lasting memories.

3nd BWPC

The participant fee includes breakfast (till the day of departure), lunch, dinner (from the day of arrival), the hotel and a BWPC T-shirt.

Games will be played according to the international FINA rules, with the following exceptions:

TEAMS

The minimum recommended number of players is 12.
Teams can be made up of more than 14 players.

FIELD & BALL

Field size: 25 x 20 m
Goal face dimensions: 3 meters (crossbar) x 0,90 meters (posts)
Ball size: Number 5

GAME DURATION

Every match lasts 2x15 minutes. Gross playing time will be used.
Matches are scheduled in blocks of 45 minutes
There will be 3 minute rest between each half and 12 minute after each match.
The team in possession of the ball has 30 seconds time limit.
Exclusion: When a player is excluded, they need to swim to the "Re-entry area". Once they reach it, they can immediately return to the game.

REFEREE

1 referee per game except the finals

RANKING

1st: mutual result; - 2nd: goal balance; - 3rd: goals scored; - 4th: 5-meters penalties in series of three.

HOUSE

RULES

Security will be present at the entrance throughout the tournament to ensure safety and order.
Access to the tournament area is only granted with the tournament badge, which you will receive upon registration. Our security team will request to see it.
Please note that it is forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages into the swimming pool area. Don't worry we will have plenty of alcoholic beverages available in the bars. 😊
The use of drugs, as well as bringing bottles and glass, is strictly prohibited at the tournament.
Help us maintain a clean environment by throwing of your trash in the designated containers.
The organization cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings or accidents that may occur at the tournament area.
The organization reserves the right to remove individuals from the tournament area in case of inappropriate behavior.
